Job Title: Assembler (F.A.T. Technician)
Location: 7611 Lake Rd S, Mobile, AL 36605
Duration: 12 months
Pay Rate: $27.00 $30.00/hr on W2
Shift: Monday Friday, 12-hour shifts (weekends as needed)
Job Summary:
The F.A.T. Technician performs Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and related tasks to ensure the quality, safety, and integrity of OSS Umbilicals and Products prior to delivery. This role requires technical expertise in electrical, fiber optic, and hydrostatic testing, along with strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform fiber optic testing and splicing (Outside Plant Certified)
Conduct low and medium voltage cable testing (up to 6000V+)
Measure resistance, continuity, and voltage using test equipment
Assist in hydrostatic pressure testing (10,000 30,000 psi)
Operate and maintain high-pressure water jet and Hydratron pumps
Set up and digitally record pressure tests using equipment like CompactRIO and NI systems
Troubleshoot both product and test equipment
Read and interpret electrical, fiber optic, and hydraulic schematics
Handle fittings, manifolds, and understand pressure ratings and proper connections
Analyze test data and determine pass/fail criteria
Document and escalate Non-Conformance Records (NCRs)
Communicate clearly with stakeholders and provide detailed shift updates
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Relevant prior experience aligned with the job responsibilities
Local candidates preferred (Mobile, AL area)
