Job Description
As a Project Manager at The Werd Company, you’ll be at the center of the action with The Werd Company’s dynamic and growing Audiovisual team in Austin, TX. You will help manage many aspects of AV Installation from establishing proposals, tracking and guiding projects’ progress, and maintaining client relationships. The Project Manager thrives in a rapidly evolving environment and is exceptionally flexible, able to carry out a broad scope of responsibilities.
What you’ll do:
- Work alongside other Project Managers and Department Head to oversee all phases of installations from planning to execution.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Maintain quality and consistent work across platforms.
- Manage calendar priorities based on installation cycle, and current projects.
- Record project related expenses and prepare budgetary reports during a project’s installation cycle.
- Work with Procurement Department to ensure that all orders are delivered on time.
- Schedule project labor with existing contractors, book necessary travel and lodging for out of town projects.
- Coordinate and participate in client discovery (walkthroughs or meetings) to gather information integral to planning the installation audiovisual systems while interacting with clients.
- Prepare progress reports of projects to present to the team during weekly meetings.
- Maintain fixed office hours plus occasional site visits.
- Schedule break out sessions with relevant personnel depending on project’s needs.
- Attend meetings as necessary with Designer to ensure designs match intended scope.
- Other ad-hoc duties may include but are not limited to; word processing, record keeping, e-filing receipts, general filing, printing and data entry.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Personality and Skill Requirements:
- Proven working experience in project management.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage projects and use initiative and judgment within established guidelines.
- Proactively anticipates problems and actively prevents them.
- Working knowledge of how audiovisual systems function and interact with each other.
- Strong organizational skills to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong teamwork skills and a strong ability to offer suggestions and improvements to processes and work effectively across a range of personalities.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Must have a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor.
- Very strong technical competency, specifically with the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, GCal).
- Working knowledge of Asana® or other project management tool is an added benefit.
- Has an openness to learn new technologies.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Has an “above and beyond” mindset.
- Must be persistent in finding solutions until all options are exhausted.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Having a strong existing network of professional colleagues is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Job Type and Compensation:
- Full Time: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
- FLSA Exempt employment, starting base salary of $50-60K, based upon experience.
