Position Overview

We are hiring an Engineer III or Senior Engineer (level dependent on experience) to support the design and implementation of capital-funded modifications at a nuclear generation facility. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers who thrive on solving complex problems, working independently, and contributing to high-stakes infrastructure projects.

You’ll play a key role in scoping, designing, and supporting the implementation of plant modifications, ensuring they meet safety, regulatory, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and environmental safety.
• Scope, develop, and support the installation and testing of engineering design changes.
• Conduct research and engineering evaluations; provide recommendations to resolve technical issues.
• Develop and revise:
• Engineering calculations and specifications
• Safety evaluations and design basis documentation
• Regulatory documents, drawings, and reports impacted by plant modifications
• Provide field support and work order review during installation phases.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective action processes.
• Support internal processes aligned with engineering governance and compliance.

Qualifications

Engineer III

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master’s may substitute for a B.S.)
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience

Senior Engineer

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Master’s may substitute for a B.S.)
• Minimum 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years with a Professional Engineer (PE) license

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in utility or power generation industry
• Proficiency in:
• Project management principles
• Finite Element Analysis and dynamic/seismic structural analysis
• Structural modeling tools (ANSYS, GTStrudl, SuperPipe, AutoPipe, Caesar II)
• ASME, AISC, and ACI design codes (e.g., B31.1, Section III, IX, XI)
• 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or similar)
• Understanding of nuclear industry design standards and processes
• Strong foundation in mechanics of materials

Working Conditions

• Primarily office-based with periodic work in plant/field environments
• Occasional overnight travel as needed
