Clinical Data Specialist
Location: Knoxville, TN
Type: Contract | Full-Time (40 hrs/week)
Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday Friday, 2:00 PM 10:30 PM (Includes rotating 1x monthly Saturday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM)

Job Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented Clinical Data Specialist to provide critical data support services for laboratory testing and customer relations across collection centers. This role ensures accurate data entry, reporting, and compliance within a fast-paced, safety-driven environment on-site at the Knoxville lab.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and investigate customer inquiries and complaints to ensure superior service quality
Log and communicate Center Feedback Reports (CFR) to collection centers via multiple channels
Prepare, consolidate, and enter data into the National Donor Deferral Registry (NDDR); assist with related inquiries
Complete and track department Incident Reports accurately
Perform clerical duties including archiving, filing, mailing, and preparing data reports
Accurately enter test results into electronic donor management systems; verify and track data entries
Generate and distribute daily reports to prevent loss of units due to incomplete testing
Review Sample Hold sheets and manage sample holding and release per established protocols
Collect and distribute confirmatory laboratory reports
Follow all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment
Prepare samples for confirmatory and pool testing as required
Perform other related duties as assigned
Working Conditions
Frequent interaction with internal and external contacts to resolve issues collaboratively
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift/carry up to 10 lbs
Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (2-8 C and -32 C) and blood-borne pathogens with provided PPE
Fast-paced environment requiring frequent task-switching and extended hours as needed
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in laboratory settings
Basic computer skills with ability to enter data accurately into laboratory systems
Preferred Qualifications
Prior laboratory experience
Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and Outlook
Strong organization, multitasking abilities, and customer service proficiency
Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team
