As a Mold Setup Mechanic, you don't just keep things running; you enhance our operational efficiency through your skilled handling of mechanical changeovers. This means setting up lines, shifting molds, and refining systems to meet the highest quality standards. Your role is crucial in ensuring machines function at their best, all while spearheading preventative maintenance work.

Your Essential Contributions:

• Expertly navigate major and minor changeovers.
• Skillfully disassemble, refurbish, and reassemble essential tooling.
• Oversee comprehensive mold changes to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage and organize tooling inventories.
• Implement strategies to minimize changeover durations.
• Maintain optimal tool cleaning systems.
• Execute scheduled mold maintenance and inspection tasks.
• Record detailed mold histories.
• Utilize precision instruments for accurate setups.
• Recommend equipment upgrades to address downtime.
• Engage in routine mold setups and maintenance.
• Mentor colleagues, enhancing changeover and setup fidelity.
• Work independently, focusing on continuous improvement strategies.
• Keep your work environment organized and efficient.
• Handle the specification and procurement of essential spare parts.
• Assist with additional process technician responsibilities as required.
• Accept other assigned duties with agility.

Qualifications You’ll Need:

• Seasoned experience in a precision machinist role is beneficial.
• Advanced computer skills for data handling and analysis.
• Proficiency in fine-tolerance assembly and machine setup.
• Experience with computerized machinery controls.
• Organized, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-driven with a proactive, improvement-focused mindset.
• Demonstrated team cooperation.
• Preferred: knowledge in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Background in the injection molding or plastics sectors preferred.
• Experience with cranes, forklifts, and heavy mold management beneficial.

Educational and Experience Prerequisites:

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Proficiencies expected in:

• Plastic extrusion methods
• Injection molding techniques
• Thermoforming processes
• Tool/Die/Mold preparation
