Regional Training Specialist                                                                                        Pay Range:  $90-100k Annually

As a Regional Training Specialist at The DDS Companies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across all operational activities.  You will oversee the qualification of personnel, manage asset inventory and maintenance, coordinate training and Operator Qualification initiatives, and conduct regular field audits to uphold regulatory requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure full operator qualification (OQ) compliance or facilitate the path forward to achieving OQ’s at the National Grid Foreman level.
  • Collaborate with training coordinators to assess OQ needs for all field staff.
  • Plan and schedule training classes to facilitate OQ progression schedules.
  • Develop and construct the necessary materials and props for National Grid training and hands-on testing preparations.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to identify training gaps and align training programs accordingly.
  • Effective utilization of crew location sheets to schedule quality inspections and address hand-on training requirements.
  • Oversee the setup, organization, and maintenance of tool inspection and calibration tracking using the asset tracking function in SMS.
  • Configure asset profiles in the SafetyCulture system to meet all tooling inspection, replacement, repair and calibration tracking requirements.
  • Provide training to relevant personnel on the effective use of SMS for compliance management.
  • Empower Foreman to maintain compliance as the last line of defense against lapses in adherence.
  • Conduct regular field audits to ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards until the system is fully operational.
  • Document findings from field audits and promptly address any non-compliance issues to maintain regulatory compliance while upholding company standards.
Required:

 
  • 3+ years of related hands-on experience in a Safety or Training focused role
  • Prior experience in utility contracting or a similar industry with a focus on quality assurance, asset management, and regulatory compliance
  • Possess a strong understanding of Operator Qualification (OQ) standards, safety protocols in the utility sector
  • Proficiency in using asset management software and compliance tracking systems, preferably SafetyCulture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Detail oriented mindset utilizing a proactive approach to identifying and resolving compliance issues
Preferred:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Ability to quickly grasp the Gas OQ system as well as governmental regulations
