Superintendent
James W. Fowler Co. (JWF), a diversified heavy civil general contractor, is recruiting Superintendent for our Seattle Region. JWF specializes in challenging utility infrastructure and industrial projects for local, state and federal government entities. Beyond just Seattle, this position may also have the opportunity to work in other locations as needed.
This position works with a diverse team of estimators, superintendents, foremen and office staff to ensure JWF delivers a successful project to our clients while maintaining profitability and schedule.

Essential Job Functions of this Position Include:

Plan and supervise Foreman and / or craft activities, including determining method of construction , manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
Responsible for the safety of your operations and employees
Supervise field crews and mentor Superintendent I
Develop site logistics plan and maintain daily record keeping
Actively participate in constructability workshops with designers
Actively participate with the project team in project scheduling for conceptual plans through final design
Review construction documents for completeness and constructability
Review and approve the balance of foremen, journeymen, and laborer's
Manage contract administration and meet with subcontractors and the field to maintain communication
Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on site
Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with clients for problem resolution and planning
Oversee and approve monthly cost updates and quarterly cash flow projection
Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
Collaborate with project partner Superintendents
Ensure direct report performance evaluations are completed in a timely fashion
Recommend organizations, policy, and procedural or staff changes
Review and approve or reject promotions up to the general foreman
Help ensure the safety of our team- _ Everyone is responsible for safety! _
Qualification
10+ years construction experience; 7+ years superintendent or field supervisory experience
Alternative delivery experience is required
Ability to learn quickly and understand various processes and software programs
Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership, safety, negotiation, planning, and contract administration experience
A self-starter, who is highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
Experience:
Heavy Civil Construction: 10 years (Preferred)
