Job Description

Charles Levick have partnered with a global Energy Trading business, We have been commissioned to find a highly motivated ERCOT Power Trader as they continue to expand their ever growing team.

This role focuses on the trading of physical and financial power, financial natural gas products, and overall portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate a minimum of $7 million in annual P&L from ERCOT trading activities.
• Actively manage and optimize positions, including HRCOs, tolls, and options portfolios.
• Utilize advanced coding and data analysis to improve trade strategies and automate work processes. Proficiency in VBA and SQL is required; experience with C, R, Python, or other advanced programming languages is highly preferred.
• Optimize asset portfolios in real-time to maximize commercial value and minimize risk exposure.
• Risk Control and Accounting for daily P&L and exposure reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in energy trading, preferably within the ERCOT market.
• Strong understanding of ERCOT-specific market structures, settlements, and mark-to-market practices.
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to act quickly based on real-time data.
• Highly self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
